The Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter will meet on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church on the corners of French and Burrstone Roads in the Town of New Hartford, NY at 7:00pm. There will be a business portion conducted by Chapter President Doug Preston with reports on the restoration of New York Central 6721, the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, The 2015 New York Central Historical Society Convention, A possible day bus trip to trace the New York, Ontario and Western's Utica Branch from Utica to Randalsville plus many more activities and projects ahead for us in the coming months.
After the break, Chapter Program Chairperson and Past Chapter President Wayne Freed will have a special program about a trip he took to New York on the private railroad car, the Chesapeake and Ohio business car the Chapel Hill. It is a unique program on his ride in this car where he went to New York with coupled onto the Lake Shore Limited. This meeting is open to anyone who is interested in railroads, railroad history, and private railroad car travel. We also invite guests attending the meeting the opportunity to join the Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society as regular members.
