The Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will meet on Friday, January 11, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church on the corners of French and Burrstone Roads in the Town of New Hartford, NY at 7:00pm. There will be a business portion conducted by President Doug Preston with reports on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, the retoration of New York Central 6721, the Toy Train Collectors' Society Train Show at Utica Union Station, the banquet at the Roselawn Banquet Facility in New York Mills, possible day and overnight bus trips, plus many more activities and projects for us in the new year. After the break, Chapter Director Bob Steffensen will have a program on the High Speed Railroad operations in the country of South Africa. This program will feature trains running over the 100 miles an hour as they do on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor here in the United States. This meeting is open to anyone who likes railroads, railroads in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, and Railroad History. We also invite guests the opportunity to join the Utica and Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society as regular members.
